To All SCAF-LA Members;
Hope your summer has been an eventful one. Many of our area referees worked the boy's and girl's Junior Olympics up north. By now all of you should have received an email requesting your water polo assignment preferences for the upcoming boy's season from Kent Kirkland, SCAF-LA Assignor and that it is due by Saturday, August 15th. Kent has spent an enormous amount of time acquiring these schedules from all the schools in our area and it is no small task to say the least from personal experience.
The following information below is to advise you as the member of what and will be going on in our area and how your active participation will shape the direction of our organization. We as a board have met on several occasions and are trying to chart a course that will better serve and inform our members. We as a board have come up with ideas but it's up to you to determine if those ideas will serve our membership.
Below is information that you will need to calendar and to stay ahead of the game.
The SCAF-LA Board will meet on the dates that have a asterisk (*) on Aug. 31st, Sep. 8th, and Nov. 30th starting at 6:00PM -6:45PM, and all members are welcome. All Area Meetings will then start at 6:45 to 7:00PM. The Instructional and make-up clinics will begin at 7:00PM (SHARP) until 8:30PM on the dates below. At 8:30PM sharp, we all go home!
If you can't or are unable to attend our area's clinic dates below, it becomes your responsibility to attend another area's clinic. The bottom-line is that anyone showing up after 7:00PM will not receive credit for that evening's clinic. Tardiness will not be tolerated.
Everyone in the organization has gone out of their way to make these clinics a success.

NFHS Instructional Clinic Dates are as follows:
*Mon. - Aug 31st (Instructional Clinic #1)
*Tue. - Sep. 8th (Instructional Clinic #2)
Mon. - Sep. 14th (Make-up clinic for #1 or #2 but not for both)
Mon. - Sep. 21st (Instructional Clinic #3)
Mon. - Sep. 28th (Instructional Clinic #4)
Mon. - Oct. 5th (Make-up clinic for #3 or #4 but not for both)
*Mon. - Nov. 30th Instructional Clinic #5)
Mon. - Dec. 7th Make-up clinic for #5)
Example #1: you attend clinic #1 and miss clinic #2 you can go to the first "Make-up clinic" on Sept. 14th.
Example #2: you attend clinic #3 and miss clinic #4 the following make-up on Oct. 5th, you will be assessed $40.00.
The bottom line is that if you attend more than one make-up clinic it will cost you $40.00. This fee was established by the SCAF Board of Directors.
