ORANGE COUNTY CHAPTER (OCAF)

To all Orange County SCAF members,

 The 2010 Boys HS season is coming upon us.  Below is information on important dates for assignments and instructional meetings as well as assignment policies.

For all members who will be officiating or evaluating collegiate contests this upcoming season please complete the availability form below for Mr. Despars to pre-assign the first half of the season for you no later than Wednesday, August 18th by 12:00 noon.  Your schedules will be completed and released to you by Sunday, August 22nd for you to confirm back to Mr. Despars by Thursday, August 26th by 12:00 noon.  (please use the attached “Boys Master Schedule 2010” excel file for filling out your availability)

For all other members there will be an assignment meeting held on Sunday, August 29th at the CIF office for you to come and select your assignments.  There will be 2 separate meetings this day.   The list of officials and times for each group will be emailed out no late than 7 days prior to this date.

Assignment Requirements:

Your SCAF dues must be up to date for this year.

You must have paid an assignment fee of $75 for the boy’s season paid to John Kulisich no later than the date of you receiving your assignments. 

You must complete all instructional clinics and have passed a rules test with an 80% or higher score.

2010-2011 Assignment Turn-Back Policy:

During each season you will be allowed to turn back only 1 assignment with no consequences.  For every assignment there after turned back the assignor will also choose another assignment of his choice to be taken away.  If this becomes a constant issue the board may choose to take all assignments and not assign you for future seasons.  Exceptions will be made for those who are turning back an assignment due to a higher level of assignment picked up (college assignment).  All other exceptions must be OCAF board approved.

Other SCAF Area Officials:

We will not be assigning any other SCAF area officials during initial assignment procedures.  There will be an availability form that will follow the completion of assignments to be used on an as need basis for all assignments not initially covered or assignments that get turned back throughout the year.

OCAF Instructional Clinic Dates:

Clinic #1 Wednesday, September 1st
7:00PM-9:00PM AT VILLA PARK HS; go to pool; meeting will be in one of three locations: in teacher's lounge, gym, or bleachers on pool deck. Bring jacket in case!

Clinic #2 Tuesday, September 7th
7:00PM-9:00PM at Irvine HS, HLG & SLG (2 rooms)

Make up #1 (for clinics 1 and 2)  Week of September 13th AT TBD

Clinic #3 Wednesday, September 22nd
7:00PM-9:00PM at Irvine HS, HLG & SLG (2 rooms)

Clinic #4 Wednesday, September 29th
7:00PM-9:00PM at Irvine HS, HLG & SLG (2 rooms)

Make up #2 (for clinics 3 and 4)  Week of October 4th AT TBD

(Clinics #5 and #6 will occur during the girls season)

Below are the Orange County Summer Leagues.  Please click the link for the appropriate week and find your assignments for that week and confirm back each day’s assignments to Shawn McBride at mcbride_s@auhsd.us no later than Monday 10:00 am of that assignment week. 

 

If you did not receive games for that week it is due to one of the below reasons:

·         Your SCAF Dues are not current (contact Tiffany Frish)

·         Your USWP is not current (contact Herb Goldstein)

·         Your SCAF primary area is not Orange County

·         You have not completed the Summer Availability Form

·         Your USWP is not current (contact Herb Goldstein)

      You do not meet the Certification or Re-Certification Required (Contact Herb Goldstein)
