Andrew Gates here again.
With each passing day we get a little closer to being back on the deck and I wanted to update you on what the Board of Directors (BOD) has been working on.
At our meeting last night:
- We finalized clinic dates: November 9, November 16, December 7, December 14, January 18, and February 1. Please contact your area Presidents with any concerns or questions you may have.
- We are launching our new SCAF Logo Contest this week. Our current logo is old and outdated and we have developed a contest to create a new one that will be used on our social media sites, publications, and webiste (to name a few). Information will be sent to you later this week. There is a prize attached to the contest so enjoy and have fun with it!
- We approved a referee recognition program that will honor an outstanding official for both the boys and girls seasons. Each water polo area (LA, OC, Inland, Foothill, Channel Coast, North Coast) will nominate one official for each season for consideration by the BOD. Awards will be presented at the CIF finals in March at Woolette. Please contact your area presidents with any questions you may have.
- Rules Test: information on the rules test will be sent out to you in the next few weeks. Please keep an eye open for an email with details.
*Covid Protocols: we are in the process of working with local school districts to develop / finalize COVID protocols for the season. These will be passed along to you when the schools have finalized their protocols and we are satisfied that our officials will remain safe. Individual concerns can be addressed with your area presidents. REMEMBER that it is up to the school districts, not CIF, as to what the protocols will be.
That’s all for now. Have a great day and we’ll see you on the deck soon!!
Andrew Gates, President
SCAF WP Board of Directors
